These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and Bible Walk, the trading name of Van Tieghem, Marleen (“Bible Walk”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). They govern your access to and use of our mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

User or you means any person who accesses or uses the Service.
Content means text, images, audio, video, code, prompts, model outputs, feedback, and any other material available through or submitted to the Service.

2. Scope and Relationship to Other Policies
Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process personal data. Please read it carefully. The current version is available at: https://biblewalkapp.com/policies/privacy-policy
If we offer specific features that require additional terms, those terms become part of your agreement with us. If there is a conflict between additional terms and these Terms, the additional terms will control for that feature.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf. You represent and warrant that you are not barred from using the Service under applicable law.
Children’s consent (GDPR/Belgium). For information society services offered directly to a child, if you are under 13, you may use the Service only with verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian. If your local law sets a higher age for independent consent, you must comply with that higher age.
4. Licence Grant
Subject to your continued compliance with these Terms, Bible Walk grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install, and use the App on devices that you own or control and to access the Website, solely for your personal and non-commercial use. Bible Walk and its licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms.
5. Licence Restrictions
You must not do any of the following, and you must not enable others to do so:
- Copy, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works of, or otherwise exploit the Service or any part of it, except as expressly permitted by law.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover the source code of the App or Service, except to the extent such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law and then only after providing advance notice to Bible Walk.
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicence, assign, distribute, publish, or otherwise transfer the App or any licence rights granted herein.
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices, disclaimers, or labels on or in the Service.
- Access or use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service or interfere with any other party's use.
6. Account Registration and Security
You may need an account to use parts of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. We may require you to enable multi-factor authentication and may disable your account if we suspect a security risk.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any law, regulation, court order, or third-party rights.
- Post or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or self-harm.
- Upload malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or related systems, or bypass any access or usage limits.
- Collect personal data about other users without their consent, or engage in spam, phishing, or fraudulent activity.
- Use the Service to provide medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice without appropriate qualifications and disclaimers.
We may review, moderate, hide, remove, or restrict access to user‑submitted content, including Prayer Requests, if we believe it violates these Terms, applicable law, platform rules, or the safety and integrity of the Service.
8. User Content and Feedback
You may submit Content, including prompts, comments, and feedback. You retain ownership of your Content, but you grant Bible Walk a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, and display your Content for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Service. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence and that your Content does not violate these Terms or any law.
If you provide feedback or suggestions, you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
9. AI-Generated Outputs, Educational Nature, and Transparency
When you use AI-powered features in the Service (such as the Chat feature), you are interacting with an artificial intelligence system. The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate responses and other outputs. These outputs are generated algorithmically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unreliable. They are provided for informational and educational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional advice, pastoral counselling, or reading Scripture in context. You are responsible for how you use any outputs and for verifying facts as appropriate.
Licence to use outputs. Subject to third-party rights and applicable law, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use AI-generated outputs for your personal, non-commercial use. If you intend broader use (e.g., publication or commercial use), you are responsible for ensuring appropriate rights and permissions.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service and all Content provided by Bible Walk, including text, graphics, trademarks, logos, audio, video, code, and other materials, are owned by or licensed to Bible Walk and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited licence granted in Section 4, you have no rights to the Service or any Content. “Bible Walk” and associated marks are our trademarks. You may not use our marks without our prior written permission.
11. Third-Party Services and Open-Source Software
The Service integrates with or relies on third-party services, libraries, and platforms. This includes AI infrastructure providers (such as OpenAI and Google) whose models power certain AI features, as well as analytics, attribution, advertising, marketing, and e-commerce service providers we use to operate and promote the Service. Your use of these third-party services may be subject to additional terms of the relevant providers. We are not responsible for third-party services. We may incorporate open-source components, and we will provide notices as required by their licences.
12. Subscriptions, Trials, and Payments
We may offer free and paid tiers. Paid Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis unless otherwise stated.
Trials. When you start a free trial, you are clearly informed that the Subscription will convert to a paid plan at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before renewal. Prices, features, and billing cycles may change.
Billing. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store in accordance with their terms. By subscribing, you authorize Apple or Google to process these charges on our behalf.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. To avoid being charged for the next billing period, cancellation must occur in accordance with the relevant app store’s terms.
Refunds. App store rights of withdrawal and refunds are handled in accordance with the Apple App Store or Google Play Store terms and processes. Where permitted by law, fees are otherwise non-refundable.
13. Changes, Updates, and Availability
We may change or discontinue features, impose limits, or update the Service, including automatic updates to the App, at any time. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or in all locations.
14. Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at https://biblewalkapp.com/policies/privacy-policy.
15. App Store Terms
If you download the App from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, you acknowledge that the app store is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. The app store provider is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them as such. You agree to comply with applicable app store terms and policies.
16. Export and Sanctions
You must comply with all applicable export control and economic sanctions laws. You represent that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any restricted country or listed on any restricted party list applicable to Belgium, the European Union, the United States, or the United Kingdom.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, or any part of it, at any time if we believe you have breached these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users. Upon termination, the licence granted to you in Section 4 ends immediately and you must stop using and uninstall the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 8 through 22.
18. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bible Walk disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that defects will be corrected, nor that information provided through the Service is accurate or complete.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bible Walk and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim or one hundred euros.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusions or limitations of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
20. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bible Walk and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your Content, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
21. Notices and Copyright Complaints
If you believe that Content infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us with a detailed notice including your contact details, identification of the work claimed to be infringed, identification of the infringing material, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorised. We may remove Content at our discretion.
